She was loved and cherished by many people including: her parents, Clyde Nafzinger and Erika Nafzinger; her husband Thomas Gerhold; her daughters, Erika Betterton (Logan) and Emma Gerhold; her siblings, Hans Nafzinger (Patty) and Connie "Zing" Nafzinger; her foster brother Kevin Bowe (Lisa); and her grandson Owen Betterton.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Donna's memory to the Town of Smithsburg's Veterans Park.
