He was predeceased by: his parents, Ernestine Howard and James W. Bishop; and his stepmother Jane D. Bishop. He is survived by: his wife Juanita V. Bishop; his daughter Juanita Bishop Hamlett; his son-in-law Charles Hamlett; his son William V. Bishop; his daughter-in-law Jacqueline Bishop; and his grandchildren, Elias, Joshua, Corinne, Jadon, Maya, Charles Jr. and Devin. He is also survived by his grandchildren, spending time with his wife.
