He is survived by: his sister Shiela; his wife Viviana; his children, Marie Blackman McDowell, John A. Matthews and Michael J. Matthews; his stepdaughter Viviana M. Matthews; his grandchildren, Regina M. Doyle, Walter S. Matthews, Christopher M. Matthews and David W. McDowell; his great grandchildren, Faith M. Doyle, David G. McDowell, Desiree M. McDowell and Daniel Minor; and his sister Sheila Bingham Matthews.
