With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Robert Thomas Gerken of Silver Spring, Maryland, who passed away on April 24, 2025 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid adieu to Robert Thomas' earthly form, let us not dwell on the void left in his wake, but rather celebrate the legacy of love and inspiration Robert Thomas has bequeathed us. For though he may have departed from our sight, his spirit remains a timeless beacon, guiding loved ones through the labyrinth of life's journey.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert James and Elizabeth Gerken. He is survived by: his wife Thelma Gerken; his siblings, John H. Gerken and Arlene Gerken Lipke; and his niece Elizabeth Gerken Bowen.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, May 7th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the DeVol Funeral Home - Washington (2222 Wisconsin Ave NW, Washington, DC 20007). A Mass of Christian burial will be held on Thursday, May 8th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Ann's Catholic Church (4001 Yuma St NW, Washington, DC 20016).
