He was predeceased by: his wife Jeanne Rector. He is survived by: his daughters, Dr. Michelle Rector Hawkins and Dr. Anne Evans (Everette); his brother-in-law Dr. Kermit Mallette; and his grandsons, Dr. John R. Hawkins IV Mercedes (Cindy), Everette L. Evans and Christopher R. He is also survived by eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other friends.
