He was predeceased by: his brothers, George and William. He is survived by: his spouse Dale Kendrick; his children, Deborah Grant (William), Linda Osborne (Michael), Col. Ralph Sheaffer (Ellen) and Daniel Sheaffer; his grandchildren, Thomas Sheaffer (Maureen), Emile Grant, Jacob Sheaffer and Morgan Osborne; his great grandchild Amelia Sheaffer; and his nieces, Ellen Gomez and Susan Sheaffer.
