It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Phillis Annette Copeland of Silver Spring, Maryland, born in Boyds, Maryland, who passed away on January 5, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by: her parents, Rev. James E. Prather and Edna Mae Luckett Prather. She is survived by: her children, Carl (Saundra), Vernon (Tracy), Donna Copeland and Tracy Copeland (Natasha); her sisters, Carolyn Howard (Roland) and Sharon Prather; her grandchildren, Adron Prather, Cobbie Prather, Alexis Farmer, Chris Farmer-Cheek, Craig Prather, Carlyssa Prather and Cariah Prather; and her siblings, Joyce Marie Prather, Peggy Saunders (Denver), James Walter Prather and William Burris.
