She was predeceased by: her parents, James Walter Jackson and Pearl Victoria Jackson; her siblings, James Walter Jackson, Jr. and Dolores Ethel Ellis; her daughter Diane Thomas-Hill; her grandson Julian Pendleton; and her former husband Ignatius Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Kathy Mitchell Weaver, Eric I. Mitchell, Nina Mitchell Wells, Vicki Mitchell Pendleton, J. Peter Mitchell (Patricia Robinson Mitchell) and Lauren A. Smith; and her grandchildren, Dana Thomas, Kirk Thomas, Jessica Thomas, Aaron Weaver, Neil Weaver, Justin Mitchell, Marcus Mitchell, Teresa Wells, Phillip Wells, Jean Purvy, Jacob Boll, Natalie Boll and Carmen Boll. She is also survived by six great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends.
