Melba Jean Jacobson Obituary
With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Melba Jean Jacobson of Silver Spring, Maryland, born in Mineral Wells, Texas, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on September 8, 2024 at the age of 100. She was predeceased by: her husband Lawrence Jacobson; and her siblings, Theodore Shakewitz, S'Verne Forman, Ramona Blank and Deanye Lawrence.
She is survived by: her sister Sandra Lanier; and her children, Dale Fitzgerald (Michael), Linda Woolley (Robert), Sharon Ramboz (John) and Jay Jacobson (Kristin). She is also survived by 16 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces, nephews, and honorary grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the St. Ann's Center for Children (http://www.stanns.org), Youth & Families or the Children's Inn at NIH, where she volunteered, caring for babies and helping families through difficult times.
