It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Mary Carroll Boteler (Silver Spring, Maryland), born in Washington, District of Columbia, who passed away on August 1, 2020, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, James Carroll and Edna Carroll; her husband William J. Boteler; her siblings, Buddy Carroll and Anne Hughes; and her granddaughter Karen Scully.

She is survived by: her children, Michael Boteler (Bobbie), Donald Boteler (Ann), Christine Haynes (Steve), Jean Marie Izzi (Rob), Paul Boteler (Teri) and John Boteler (Cathy); and her grandchildren, Nicole Boteler, Colin Boteler, Kevin Boteler, Justin Haynes, Patrick Haynes, Allison Smythe, Jennifer Smith, Marc Izzi, Rebecca Hackett, Jeffrey Boteler, Laura Bohan, William Boteler and Amy Anna. She is also survived by twenty one great grandchildren.

Due to Covid restrictions and concerns, funeral service and burial will be private.

“I was saddened to read Mary's death notice; her picture is lovely, just as I remember her with that captivating smile. Mary and my mother (Marie Saunders Montgomery) went to St. Patrick's together and were part of the "Shamrockettes," a group of St. Pat's "girls" who continued to meet regularly many decades after graduation. I think she and Bill attended my parents' 50th anniversary party in 1991. My prayers are with the family. May God bless all of you. MaryAnn (Montgomery) Egan”
