It is with great sadness that we announce the death of John Edward Joyner (Silver Spring, Maryland), born in Nashville, Tennessee, who passed away on October 17, 2021, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis Louis Joyner, Sr. and Lenora Totty Joyner; his siblings, Dennis Louis Joyner, Jr. and Mildred Wright (Joyner); and his pet Whiskers.
He is survived by: his wife Jeanette McKinney Joyner; his sons, Dr. John Edward Joyner, Jr. and Jeffrey Edwin Joyner; his daughter-in-law Angela Venerable Joyner; his brother Lemuel; his sister-in-law Barbara Joyner; his grandchildren, Carin Elizabeth Maria and John Edward Grant Joyner; and his friend Daniel P. Donahue. He is also survived by relatives, including many nephews and nieces, great nephews and nieces, and a host of loving friends.
Its foundation was laid in the Christian home in which his parents, for whom he had the greatest love and respect, reared him and his siblings.
