We are sad to announce that on September 2, 2020, at the age of 84, Joan Brooks Gundling of Silver Spring, Maryland, born in Washington, District of Columbia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her husband John L. Gundling; her son Michael Gundling (Fuzz); her parents, Dr. John S. Brooks and Blonda L. Brooks; and her brothers, John S. Brooks, Jr. and David A. Brooks.
She is survived by: her sister Alice Brooks Brown (Tom) of Ft. Myers Florida; her children, Deborah E. Grove of Silver Spring, MD, Richard L. Gundling (Lisa) of Rockville, MD and Tracey G. Cole (David) of Huntingtown, MD; her siblings-in-law, David Gundling (Mary), William Gundling (Chris), Eleanor Zuhowski and C. J. Brooks; and also Jack Gundling. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
A graveside service will be held Wednesday September 9, at 12:30 p. m. at Gate of Heaven Cemetery in Silver Spring, MD (maximum of 50, due to Covid-19 restrictions).
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Montgomery County Humane Society.
