She was predeceased by: her parents, F. Kenneth Mathis, Sr. and Eleanor Tucker Mathis; her husband Gerald "Gerry" Kelly Hughes, Jr.; her significant other Mitchell Myers; and her nieces and nephews, Kim (Sean M.) and William Tucker Mathis, Jr. (Alex).
She is survived by: her brother F. Kenneth "Buzz" Mathis, Jr. (Florence "Flo") of Chapin, SC; her nephews, Kevin and Michael (Kimberly); her son Sean Hughes (Julie) of Howard County; her grandchildren, Kayla, Connor and Brianna; her daughter Megan Kreuzburg (Brad) of Silver Spring; her granddaughter Eleanor; her sister-in-law Constance "Tinsel"; her nieces and nephews, Colleen (Mark), Bridget (Barbara) and Shannon (David); her brother William "Willie" Tucker Mathis (Sue); and her grandchild Ellie.
In Lieu of flowers donations to one of Dorothy's preferred charitable donations would be appreciated: Montgomery Hospice (Casey's House), the Montgomery County Animal Services and Adoption Center (via Friends of Montgomery County Animals) or the American Cancer Society.
