It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of Alice Hilfiker of Silver Spring, Maryland, born in Morristown, New Jersey, who passed away on June 6, 2021, at the age of 91, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Edna Ferguson Johnson and Fletcher James Johnson, Sr.; her husband James Hilfiker; her siblings, Evelyn, Dr. Fletcher James Johnson, Jr. and David Johnson; and her goddaughter Linda Alford-Moore.

She is survived by: her godson Jullian; her stepdaughter Karen Shazer (Jeffrey) of Virginia; her close friend Evelyn Lloyd of Maryland; her godchildren, Shana Lloyd of California and Julian Lloyd of Maryland; her siblings, Alexander Johnson (Evetta) of New Jersey, Dr. Ruth Ellen Johnson of Pennsylvania and Coach Robert H. Johnson of Indiana; her sisters-in-law, Jeanne Johnson of California and Constance Johnson of New Jersey; and her aunts, Loretta Ferguson of Pennsylvania, Agnes Kiganda and Skarlet Castro. She is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews, great grand nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Heart.
