She was predeceased by: her parents, Marvin Peter and Vera Pike Abbott of Virginia; her husband Melvin Lee "Spick" Gossard, Sr.; and her granddaughter Kristein. She is survived by: her children, Melva Rice (Danny) of Sharpsburg, MD, Melvin L. Gossard, Jr. (Teresa) of Shepherdstown, WV and Marion Gossard (Melissa Allen) of Falling Waters, WV; her sister Marilyn Smith Ashcraft of Sharpsburg, MD; her grandchildren, Melvin Gossard, III, Meghan Gossard, Christopher Gossard, Sean Gossard, Ronnie Gossard, Taylor Gossard, William Rice, IV and Briar Rice; and her stepgrandson Jon. She is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews.
