She was predeceased by: her parents, Itsuki Sakoda and Tamayo Okada Sakoda; her husband Jacob E. Bender, Jr.; and her siblings, Roy Sakoda, Richard Sakoda, Stanley Sakoda, Gary Sakoda, Douglas Sakoda, Tommy Sakoda and Jean Sakoda.
She is survived by: her stepmother Kiku Sakoda; her children, Terrie L. Grim (Mark) of Sharpsburg, MD, Duane T. Bender of Boonsboro, MD and Edward Y. Bender of Sharpsburg, MD; her grandsons, Jeffrey K. Grim of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Joshua M. Grim of Frederick, MD; and her sisters, Janet Ikeda of Pahoa, Hawaii, Elsie Sakoda of Honolulu, Hawaii and Ethel Degushi of Pahoa, Hawaii. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
