She was predeceased by: her parents, John Matthews and Sarah Scott Matthews; her husband Arthelbert "Buddy" Holland; her daughter Farinda Holland; her siblings, William, Calvin, Thomas, Ellis, Alexander, Preston Matthews and Jean Johnson; her son-in-law Beasley; and her son Charles Coates, Jr..
She is survived by: her grandson Ron Holland, Jr. (Thelma); her children, Jeffrey (Carolyn), Ron (Mary), Carl (Ronnie), Monya Dorsey (Alfred), Wanda Smith, Toni Cole (Alonzo), Carol Holland and Deneen Moulden (Brian); her sisters, Lucille Brown, Sarah Thompson and Mary Tyler; her siblings-in-law, Credella Matthews, Shirley Holland and Lawrence Gross; her goddaughter Yvonne Johnson; and her children, Cheryl Hammond, Thompson, Octif Turner, Tammy Smith, Dana Scott, Elsie Smith, Doris Brown and Delores Medley. She is also survived by eight children; 19 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
