He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Anita Brillant and Romeo Brillant; his wife Nancy; his sons, Daniel, Jr. (Theresa) and John (Wendy); his grandchildren, Ryan, Lauren, Jenna and Matthew Brillant; and his siblings, Ronald (Lucille), Joan Campbell (Blane), Nancy Burns and Rita Coulombe (Chanel) of Maine.

In Lieu of Flowers memorial contributions may be made to the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, Boys Town, and/ or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children.
