It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Thomas Shimek (Secretary, Maryland), born in Cambridge, Maryland, who passed away on April 3, 2020, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his parents, Joseph Franklin Shimek and Agnes Clara Bame Shimek; his son Thomas W. Shimek, Jr.; his brother Joseph "Emil" Shimek; his brother-in-law Harvey Stanley; and his stepgranddaughter Samantha.
He is survived by: his wife Elsie Baker; his sons, Joseph W. Shimek (Susan) and Steven L. Shimek (Ginger); his grandchildren, William and Caroline Shimek; his sisters-in-law, Rebecca Stanley, Sarah E. SanJean and Suzanne Shimek; his niece Emily; and his nephew Tommy.
