He was predeceased by: his parents, William Irwin Whiteman and Catherine Whiteman (McGee); his siblings, Ellen Payne, Donna Jean Sexton and William Whiteman; and his granddaughters, Kelly Fairgrieve and Sarah Whiteman.
He is survived by: his wife Doris Whiteman; his children, Phyllis Shackleford (Wade) of Savage River, John Whiteman (Kim) of Cumberland, Phil Whiteman Jr. (Janet) and Vaughn Whiteman (Lucinda) of Savage River; and his siblings, Thelma Foutz and Stanley Whiteman. He is also survived by sixteen grandchildren, thirty-three great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
