He was predeceased by: his parents, Percy James and Lydia Sterling Purnell; his wife Kathryn M. "Kitty" Purnell; his brother Colonel Sterling Purnell; and his niece Pamela McCready.
He is survived by: his brother Percy James "P. J."; and his nieces and nephews, Robert James Purnell (Carol) of Shelltown, William Edwin Purnell (Angie) of Baltimore County, William James (Anne Purnell), Catherine Love of Seaford, Teresa Waller of Salisbury, Lydia (Frank Snyder), Jane (Bob Taylor) and Barbara (Edison Ward).
Masks are required and social distancing is encouraged.
