She was predeceased by: her parents, Deacon Orvin Dennis, Sr. and Elder Viola Schoolfield Dennis; and her siblings, Ralph Dennis, Sr., Vaughn Dennis, Sr., Orvin Dennis, Jr., Calvin Dennis, Nancy Price, Nettie Gale, Frances Deshields and Bertha Bishop.
She is survived by: her children, Randall Hughes (Francine), Charles Hughes, Jr., Desmond Hughes (Sheree), Dr. Lorenzo Hughes, Diane Hughes and Charlotte Harris (John); her sisters, Mable Townsend and Elsie Truitt; and her siblings-in-law, Daniel Hughes, Roy Hughes, Frances Dennis, Harriet Dennis, Peggy Macer and Edna Hughes. She is also survived by eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nephews, nieces, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
