He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Carter and Urcella Carter (Fullerton); and his wife Pauline Gunther Carter. He is survived by: his sons, Clifton Jones of Salisbury and Vernon Jones (Cheryl) of Mitchellville, Maryland; his grandsons, Vernon Q. Jones II and Brandon A. Jones; and his close friend Lance Braham of Salisbury. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
