She was predeceased by: her parent Herbert Layer; and her husband Michael L. Parks. She is survived by: her parent Von Dell Cox Dawson; her sons, David Parks (Eva) of Pittsville, Brian H. Parks and Michelle of Salisbury; her grandchildren, Jessie Parks (Amy), Erika Kissinger (Jesse), Danny Parks (Julia) and Brittney Zickafoose (Eric); her great grandchildren, Skye, Carter, Madeline Parks, Emersyn Kissinger and Evelyn Kissinger; her stepmother Wanda Layer of Arkansas; and her siblings, Charlotte Layer Mills (Gary), Thomas A. Dawson, Jr., Andrea Johnson (Mark), Allison Broadbent (Chris), Matthew Dawson (Penny) and Sondra Layer Lowe. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
