He was predeceased by: his parents, Margaret T. Ruark and Irvin Ruark; and his siblings, Margaret Amelia Ruark, Florence Elizabeth Ruark and Dallas Irving Ruark.

He is survived by: his wife Donna Ruark; his children, Lori Smith (Steve), Wayne Ruark, Brad Ruark and Spike Ruark; his children-in-law, Shannon and Kelley; his grandchildren, Ranae Disharoon (Tyler), Sara Smith, Madelyn Smith, Gabriel Ruark, Gage Ruark, Payton Ruark, Reese Ruark and Torin Ruark; his great grandchildren, Blakley and Reid Disharoon; his niece Angie Strouth; and his uncle Oran Taylor.
