He was predeceased by: his parents, Charles M. Hitchens and Anna Tingle Hitchens; and his grandparents, Ruby, Harold Hitchens of Mt. Vernon, MD, Bessie and George Tingle of Salisbury, MD..
He is survived by: his wife Sharon Wilson Hitchens; his sister Cheryl H. Brown (Kenneth); his stepbrother Allen Townsend (Mary) of Leander, TX.; his nieces, Crystal L. Thomas, Jerry, Chase and Greyson; and his close friends, Bill and Lisa Burton of Winston Salem. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces and nephews.
