He was predeceased by: his parents, Cooper Henry and Leila Webster Thomas; and his siblings, Margaret "Peggy" Daniels and John Henry Thomas, Sr.. He is survived by: his wife Miriam Messenger Thomas; his daughters, Cheryl McKelvey (Ronald) and Linda Morgan (Rob); his great grandchildren, Kristin Shockley (Brian), Ryan McKelvey (Sarah), Amy Morgan, Andrew Morgan, Kaitlyn Robb (Andrew), Alec Morgan (Annie) and Rebekah McKelvey; and also, Gavin, Madelyn, Owen, Benjamin, Alaine, Macie, Judah, Eve, Honora, Peter, Paul, Katrina, Joanna, Isabel, Ivy, Caleb and Eleanor.
