She was predeceased by: her parents, Carlton Massey and Louise Miles; her husband Jesse Hinote; and her children, Doug and Kay Serres.

She is survived by: her sons, Raymond Mister, Nick Saykalay and Ricky Hinote. She is also survived by several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
