He was predeceased by: his parents, William Franklin Culp and Sadie Mae Davis Culp; his wife Virginia Hitch Smith Culp; and his siblings, William, Jimmy, Philip and Viola.
He is survived by: his daughters, Diane M. Kirkpatrick (Sam) and Linda V. Hayward; his stepchildren, Thomas E. Smith (Ruth Malone), Ralph H. Smith (Margaret Ann) and Sylvia S. Stroop (George); his granddaughters, Rebecca Wulff and Angela Roberts; his stepgrandchildren, Tamara Pusey, Sherri Pavilack and Scott Smith; his half-siblings, Bobby Culp and Margaret Ann Soulis (Michael); his stepbrother Clifton Lawrence (Betty); and his close friend Evelyn Moore. He is also survived by 3 great grandchildren; 7 step great grandchildren; 2 step great great grandchildren.
