She was predeceased by: her parents, Donald Vance Pittman, Sr. and Irene Williams Pittman; and her brothers, Donald Vance Pittman, Jr. and Carl Pittman. She is survived by: her children, Charles "Chip" H. Melvin, Jr. (Maryam Afsharpour), Karen Marie Melvin and Keith Wayne Melvin (Gina); her grandchildren, Tyler Melvin and Amanda Melvin; and her sister Dorothy Aksteter. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
