She was predeceased by: her parents, Henrietta Cottman Polk Hughes and Ira Polk; her former spouse Hawthorne Brooks; her stepfather Jesse O. Hughes, Sr.; her grandparents, George, Gertrude Cottman and Randolph Polk; her husband Leigh H. Jackson; her siblings, Henry Polk and Dolores; her brother-in-law Rev. Sterling Glover; her parents-in-law, Charles L. and Ella Jackson; and her siblings-in-law, William Price, Charles L. Jackson, Jr., Ruby and Suzie Jackson.

She is survived by: her daughter Marceline Brooks-Williams (Fulton) of Salisbury, MD; her grandchildren, Erika Brooks Zaimah of Salisbury, MD and Sharie Porter of Athens, GA; her great grandchildren, Marceline Brooks of Essex, MD, Monyet Brooks of Las Vegas, NV and DeAndre Thomas of Tulsa, OK; her brother Jesse O. Hughes, Jr. of Salisbury, MD; her siblings-in-law, Earl Jackson (Marion), Richard Jackson (Vida), Patsy Jones of Smyrna, DE and Yvonne Handy of Magnolia, DE; and her goddaughter Jessilene Corbett of Magnolia, DE. She is also survived by nieces, nephews, and a host of other family members and friends.
