He was predeceased by: his parent Rollie Plummer. He is survived by: his parent Achsah Daisey Hudson; his wife Shirley Parsons Hudson; his daughters, Susan K. Hudson (James) and Pamela A. Matthews (David); his grandchildren, Richie Hornsby and Angeleia Talley; his stepgranddaughters, Jenny Hastings (Phillip) and Kenzie Matthews; his stepgreat-granddaughter Kendyl Hastings; and his sister Phyllis Hudson Meyer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
