It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Emmitt Cotton Jr. (Salisbury, Maryland), born in Raleigh, North Carolina, who passed away on June 13, 2023, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by: his father Emmitt Cotton, Sr.; his wife Viola Cotton; his son Phillip Cotton, Sr.; his grandson Shannon Cottman; and his siblings, Elizabeth Slade, Anna Robertson, Charles Cotton, Rannie Ward, Evelyn Horsey, Ernest Cotton and Morris Cotton.
He is survived by: his sons, Charles Cotton of Brentwood, MD and Sylvester Victor Cotton (Doris) of Princess Anne, MD; his grandchildren, Charles, Jr., Christina, Christopher, Sylvester Contrell, Jenine, Holly, Corrie, Shawn, Shane, Deborah, Phillip, Jr., Jason and Sierra; and his sister Ethel Mae Wallace. He is also survived by 27 great grandchildren.
