It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Eleanor Marie Plachta (Salisbury, Maryland), born in Oakland, Maryland, who passed away on February 4, 2019, at the age of 97, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Vareika and Valeria Vareika Mikutaitis; her husband Chester Plachta; and her brother Donald Vareika. She is survived by: her children, Walter Plachta (Beverly Plachta) of Nanticoke, Cynthia Stacy (Marshall Stacy) of Swanton, Nance Plachta of Austell and Dorothy Davis (James Davis) of Elizabeth City, N. C.. She is also survived by four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
A memorial reception will be held at a later date in Nanticoke.In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory can be made to the West Side Volunteer Fire Department, PO Box 85 Bivalve, MD 21814.
