He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert L. Schroen and Esther Schroen (Wilhardt); his siblings, Margaret Susan Schroen, Joseph Schroen (Pepper) and Ann Lytle (Schroen); and his daughter-in-law Jessica Schroen.

He is survived by: his wife Julie Nagel (Nagel) of Preston; his children, Kristin Rawlings (Dave), Daric Schroen (Holly) and J. D. Schroen (Jenny); his grandchildren, Jesse Rawlings, Olivia, Ethan, Gavin and Braden Schroen; and his siblings, Bob (Ellen), Dan Schroen (Brenda), Mary Jane Holzhouer, Catherine Dunn (Dick), Esther Coe (Charlie), Jan Nagel (David) and Sally Roberts (Tony).

In lieu of flowers, the family requests the donations be sent to one of the following: Salisbury Christian School - 807 Parker Rd. Salisbury, MD 21804.
