She was predeceased by: her parents, Curtis Sturgis and Bernice Sturgis (Hurley); her son Curtis L. Hancock; her brother Van Sturgis; her brother-in-law Philip Boltz; and her son-in-law Jerry Covell.
She is survived by: her husband Floyd W. Hancock; her children, Trent Hancock (Wendy), Craig Hancock (Karen), Marita Newsome and Terri Ford (Greg); her grandchildren, Rhonda Gabbard (Derek), Ericka Pate, Kimberly Parks (Jamie), Kelly Wagner (Steve), Kandice Bond (Nick), Mike Newsome (Nicki), Coty Newsome (Erika Lind) and Katie Ford (Nick); and her sister Linda Boltz of Salisbury. She is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
