He was predeceased by: his parents, Winfred James Godwin and Dolcie Martin Godwin; his siblings, Karen Smith and Van Godwin; his son-in-law Pete Miller; and his great grandchildren, Stevie and Drew.
He is survived by: his wife Claudia Lewis Godwin; his daughters, Tana Godwin Taylor of Captains Cove, VA, Norma Michele Isdell of Leemont, Teresa Starr Adkins of Stockton, MD, April Lynn Pruitt of Temperanceville and Wanda Sue Miller of Girdletree, MD; his stepchildren, Perry Sharpley of Pocomoke, MD and Dawn Thornton of Hallwood; and his sisters, Cindy Outten of Girdletree, MD and Brenda Carey of Leemont, VA. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
