He was predeceased by: his parents, Posey Shupe and Bertha Miller Shupe; and his siblings, Pauline Lane, Jim Shupe and David Shupe.
He is survived by: his children, Crystal Shupe of Indialantic, FL, Rhonda "Susan" Geisler (Ed) of Ontario, NY and Arnold "Jay" Shupe Jr. (Stephanie) of Charles Town, WV; his significant other Margaret Franklin of Salisbury, MD; his grandchildren, Amber Moore, Alyssa Ruff (Jordan), Kat Cutter (Nick), Sydney Geller, Jacob Shupe and Joshua Shupe; his siblings, Sylvia Willey (Gerald), Joy Nicholson (Jim), John Shupe (Bebe), Junior Shupe (Pat), Milton Shupe (Joanna) and Sam Shupe (Donna); and the mother of his children Ruth Owens. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
