He was predeceased by: his parents, David Armstrong Barrett and Elizabeth Barnes-Barrett (Luber); and his siblings, William Barnes (Billy), Douglas Barnes (Dougie), Solomons Barnes (Perry), Timothy Barnes (Timmy) and Sandra Button (Barnes).
He is survived by: his wife Margie Barrett (Sharretts); his children, David "Bubba" and Erica (Paul Reamy); his granddaughters, Laycyn Barrett and Layla Gibson; his great grandchild Caaliyah Jaide; and his sisters, Gloria Barnes Yates, Carolyn Barnes Parker and Linda Barnes Lanzisera. He is also survived by loving nieces, nephews, and extended family.
