He was predeceased by: his siblings, Agnes Pollack, Rose Beasley and John; his parents, John Schmidt and Agnes Sweeney; and his grandfather August.
He is survived by: his wife Dottie Schmidt; his children, Bill Schmidt (Susan) of Olney, Barbara Stone of Urbana and Karen Crandall (late William) of Burlingame, CA; and his grandchildren, Jessica Stone of Urbana, Cuyler Crandall of Palo Alto, CA, Veronica Schmidt of Towson, Samantha Stone of Urbana and Kathryn Crandall of Philadelphia.
Visitation will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Robert A. Pumphrey Funeral Homes, Inc. - Rockville (300 W Montgomery Ave, Rockville, MD 20850). A celebration of life will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A reception will be held on Sunday, May 4th 2025 from 3:15 PM to 6:00 PM at the same location.
