With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Sumikatsu Joseph Arima in Rockville, Maryland, born in Seattle, Washington, whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on October 23, 2024 at the age of 83. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his parent Sumio Arima; and his siblings, Sumiyasu and Takako. He is survived by: his wife Chinh; his daughters, Ngoc Tran (Tuan Nguyen), Hoan Tran, Kim Tran and Mimi O'Sullivan (Stephen); his siblings, Kayko Goto (David), Mutsuko Arima, Nancy Miyama (Larry), James Arima and John Arima (Debbie); his grandchildren, Joseph Huy, Sandra (Viet), Victor, Oscar Sumiaki Liam and Dorothy Ly-An Fujika; and his great grandchild Orion Atticus. He is also survived by cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM at the St. Patrick Catholic Church (4101 Norbeck Rd, Rockville, MD 20853). A Mass of Christian burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM at the same location. A burial was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the Gate of Heaven Cemetery (13801 Georgia Ave, Silver Spring, MD 20906). A reception was held on Monday, November 11th 2024 at 2:30 PM at the Brightview West End (285 N Washington St, Rockville, MD 20850).
