She was predeceased by: her husband Edward C. "Ned" Prettyman; her daughter Mary Alice Prettyman; and her brother Philip Black. She is survived by: her children, Charles P. (Maria), Elizabeth Prettyman-Guay (James) and Mary C. "Marcie" Gardner; her grandchildren, Edward, William, Zachariah, Tatyana, Katharine and Nathaniel; and her siblings, Alice Prugh and Robert Black (Martha).

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, June 7th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Christ Episcopal Church (109 S Washington St, Rockville, MD 20850).

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Christ Episcopal Church.

“I had the honor and privilege of working with Reenie for many years at the National Library of Medicine. During a career one meets and works with many people but only a few stand out. Reenie was a wonderful friend, colleague and a marvelous person. I fondly remember parties at her house. I loved the special children cutout fencing she would put out at Halloween; I always looked at for it when I drove past. It is sad to say goodbye, but I will never forget you. Knowing you enriched my life.”
