Lillie Dandy Obituary

With solemn hearts, we announce the passing of Lillie Dandy (Rockville, Maryland), whose presence will be deeply missed, having departed on April 16, 2025 at the age of 93. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Lillie Dandy to pay them a last tribute.

She was predeceased by: her husband Alex Dandy; her son Samuel A. Dandy; and her siblings, Samuel Hazemey and Selma Hazemey. She is survived by: her friends, Lilah Adele Dandy, Lillie Mae, Diamond Lil', Sittie Mom and Big Sittie; her children, Cathy Kirdassi of McLean, Mike Dandy (Thomasina) of Fenton, Susan Nsouli (Talal Nsouli) of Bethesda, Rick Dandy (Phyllis) of Bethesda Maryland and Barbara Ludwig (Bill Ludwig) of Birmingham; her grandchildren, Kareem Kirdassi (Anna), Mounir Nsouli (Jacquelyn Puente Nsouli), Suad Nsouli, Leila Kirdassi Shihadah (Ahmad Shihadah), Jad Kirdassi, Ameed Nsouli, Samir Nsouli, Zachary Shaben, Michael Shaben, Alex Yolles and David Yolles; her great grandchildren, Scarlett "Lillie" Shihadah, Zara Nsouli, Violette Shihadah and Alexander Kirdassi; and her siblings, Kemal Hazemey of Welch and Mona Saleh (Carter Wormley) of Alexandria, VA. She is also survived by extended family and many dear friends.

Visitation was held on Saturday, April 26th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Joseph Gawler's Sons (5130 Wisconsin Ave, Washington, DC 20016). A funeral service was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A prayer was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 1:00 PM at the Islamic Center of Washington DC (2551 Massachusetts Ave NW, Washington, DC 20008). A graveside service was held on Sunday, April 27th 2025 at 2:30 PM at the Parklawn Cemetery (12800 Veirs Mill Rd, Rockville, MD 20853).
