He was predeceased by: his wife Patsy Atwood; and his son Paul Atwood. He is survived by: his children, Cecil W. Atwood, Jr. of Conowingo and Terry Irwin of Rising Sun; his siblings, Mary Perry of Rising Sun and Junior Atwood of Elkton; his friend Mary McClure; and his brother-in-law Richard Weaver. He is also survived by six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.
