It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Richard D. Fernald of Ridgely, Maryland, who passed away on October 7, 2020, at the age of 80, leaving to mourn family and friends. Leave a sympathy message to the family on the memorial page of Richard D. Fernald to pay them a last tribute.

He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Charles Fernald and Alice Fernald (Deceased); his wife Muriel C. Poitras; his children, Kenneth C. Fernald, Scott L. Fernald (Jill), Ashley E. Knight (Jon) and Alison J. Porter (David); his siblings-in-law, Lester Pettigrew of Virginia and Sylvia Poitras of New Hampshire; his friends, Nettie Mae Goad and Michael Musachio; his sister Barbara Pettigrew; his brother-in-law Norman Poitras; and also Debbie. He was also cherished by 8 grandchildren.
