With heavy hearts, we announce the death of John R. Zyla of Ridge, Maryland, born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, who passed away on June 25, 2023 at the age of 88. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Zyla and Julia Shaposka; his wife Rosa Zyla; his children, John D Zyla (Tabatha) of Ridge, Donna Swientisky (Neal) of Centreville, VA and Thomas S. Zyla of Severn, MD; his grandchildren, Becky Alpeter (Chris), Zachary and Jacob Zyla; his children, Paige Miccio (Keith), Gabriella, Olivia, Nicholas, Eleanor Swientisky, Nathan and Ariana Zyla; his great grandchildren, Henry and Eloise Miccio; and his siblings, Lorraine Baker of Pittsburgh, PA, Eleanor Impavido and Lawrence Zyla.
To honor the memory of John R. Zyla, the family kindly asks that, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the International Rett's Syndrome Foundation.
