He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Edward and Margaret Virginia Simmons; and his former wife Mary Jo Simmons. He is survived by: his wife Karen Elaine Simmons; his sons, Brian Simmons of Elkton, MD and Scott Simmons of Elkton, MD.; his siblings, Carolyn Homan (Paul) of Clarksburg, WV, Lauren Copeland of Emoryville, WV and Roger Simmons (Pat) of Mt. Storm, WV.; his extended family, Michael and James Harvey of Baltimore, MD.; and his grandchildren, Michael, Amanda and Michelle. He is also survived by other relatives and friends.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, November 26th 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Eline Funeral Home (11824 Reisterstown Rd, Reisterstown, MD 21136). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, November 27th 2024 at 12:00 PM at the same location.
