Marie Bates Obituary
We are sad to announce that on January 24, 2025, at the age of 87, Marie Bates of Reisterstown, Maryland, born in Roanoke, Virginia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, Marie shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid Marie farewell, her loved ones carry with them the precious gift of her memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Lawrence H. McGeorge and Lura Marie McGeorge; and her husband James Crowder Bates. She is survived by: her son James Lawrence Bates; and her sister Carolyn Horn.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 from 9:00 AM to 10:00 AM at the Oakey's Vinton Chapel. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, February 1st 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location.
