He is survived by: his children, H. Hamilton Hackney III and Anne Hackney Tremper; his daughter-in-law Susan Paardecamp Hackney; his sister-in-law Eden Hackney; his stepchildren, Molly and Eyre Baldwin; his nieces and nephews, Alice Alstatt, Leslie Altstatt, Carol Altstatt, Julia Altstatt, Hamilton Altstatt and Robin Alstatt Scarborough; his grandchildren, Adam C. Tremper, Chloe A. Tremper, Hamilton S. Hackney and James P. Hackney; and his great grandchildren, Nora and Sophie Tremper. He is also survived by his family, friends.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Hap's memory to the St. John's Church in Glyndon, MD.
