He was predeceased by: his father Dennis "Bear" Schmier; and his close friend Jennifer Levitt. He is survived by: his mother Sondra M. Schmier (Scanlon); his children, Stephanie Hopkins, Joseph Schmier and Timothy Schmier; his sister Denise Pearre; and his former wife Carol Schmier.
